Looking for Insights in Sales Data for Athletic Sneakers

With this project I set out to determine if future sales of all ranges of athletic shoes could be predicted using data from a large athletic wear company downloaded from Kaggle.

What I discovered when I chose the dependent and independent variables, compared the scatterplots, and ran the regression and correlation tables was that price of a product does not always correlate linearly with the number of units sold, total sales, or the operating profit. In fact, at least in the data I was working with, the price of an individual pair of sneakers was the least reliable way to predict any sales measures about that item!
