
CRM Project: looking for insights resulting from an advertising campaign.

This project arose from an eCornell course focused on data exploration for business. The data here was supplied by the course. My goal was to clean, organize, and use summary statistics to determine what factors may have played a role in a given customer’s participation in a recent advertising campaign. All work for this project was completed in excel. I particularly enjoyed comparing the summary statistics and creating visualizations to help illustrate trends within the data.
Another interesting moment in this data exploration came as I looked into the gender of the customers. The historical customer base was dominantly male, however during the campaign males and females were almost equally likely to have made a purchase.
One of the first things I noticed was that a seemingly low percentage of existing customers made a purchase during the recent advertising campaign. However without knowing the goals of the campaign it’s impossible to glean real meaning from this.
